A.P. Moller – Maersk named as challenger in Gartner 2021 Magic Quadrant
Research and advisory firm Gartner Inc. has named Danish integrated shipping company A. P. Moller – Maersk as a “challenger” in its 2021 Magic Quadrant for third party logistics.
Whereas Maersk in the past has been profiled as a “niche player”, Gartner now recognises A. P. Moller – Maersk as a significant 3rd Party Logistics (3PL) provider and a “challenger” in its recently released overview of key international 3PL providers.
Gartner evaluates Maersk and other vendors under end-to-end digital offering, market responsiveness, customer experience, and operations in the Ability to Execute Criteria.
Maersk serves a wide array of markets, including chemicals, automotive, pharma, high tech, lifestyle and FMCG.
Among the 17 companies listed in the quadrant, Maersk said in a statement that it improved within the areas “Completeness of vision” and “Ability to execute”.
The Danish company also continued that Gartner acknowledged Maersk Neonav, Maersk’s 4PL service offering, as an exemplar third-party innovations for 2021.
“I am extremely proud to see how the general strategy and our expansion on e2e digital solutions, created by our talented employees is being lauded by Gartner,” said Aymeric Chandavoine, Head of Logistics and Services at Maersk.
“We strive every day to create new, better and smarter solutions that continue to add value for our customers, and we hold this recognition from Gartner in high esteem,” he said.
