A multidivisional and turnkey approach saw the project and site teams seamlessly work together during the design and construction process, utilising steelwork supplied directly from Ahrens’ local manufacturing facility based in Kingsford.
Ahrens said in a media statement that the end result was a building solution that satisfied both the operational and aesthetic needs of the client.
Employing a collaborative and consultative method of approach, Ahrens worked closely with the client to provide a solution that satisfied the key objectives of the principle requirements outlined by the client.
The scope of works included an 8,000m2 warehouse, a large 1,300m2 office space, 1,000m2 of awning, an operations office, amenities retail area, innovation centre and three recessed loading docks.
The new facility was occupied by multinational distribution group Bunzl, who will use the warehouse for the storage of essential and non-essential equipment for the hospitality and healthcare sectors.
This is the second project Ahrens have completed in the Adelaide Airport Burbridge Business Park precinct, following the completion of AFL Max in 2019.
