Australia Post expands parcel network with new Dubbo delivery centre

Australia Post has announced the opening of a new parcel delivery centre in Dubbo, marking a significant investment in the region.

The new facility, which replaces the temporary delivery centre at Jannali Road, offers over 1,485m2 of internal space and features a straight-line conveyor running through the centre of the building for efficient parcel processing.

With more space, the new parcel delivery centre will enable the Australia Post network to meet the current demand for parcel delivery with a more streamlined experience for drivers, allowing them to get in and out of the facility quickly and efficiently to reach customers.

Australia Post’s Executive General Manager Network Operations Rod Barnes emphasised the new centre’s role in improving service in Dubbo and investing in the community.

“We have designed the new centre with efficiency and simplicity in mind to help turnaround times and get items to customers’ doors as quickly as possible.

The additional space has also allowed us to better support eCommerce customers and their shoppers in the Dubbo area as we can now accept and process parcels faster into the centre,” Barnes said.

This new parcel delivery centre in Dubbo is part of Australia Post’s broader strategy to improve services across the country.

In the past six months, the company has opened 30 new or renovated letter and parcel centres in Australia. This week, Australia Post also opened new distribution centres in Butler, Western Australia, and Camden Park, South Australia.

The Butler distribution centre is expected to accommodate the region’s rapid growth and increasing small parcel volume, while Camden Park’s centre consolidates a number of properties to improve turnaround times.
