Australia Post has inaugurated its latest parcel facility in Kemps Creek, marking a significant step in bolstering its logistics capabilities.

Serving Greater Western Sydney and the surrounding region, the expansive 33,680-square-meter facility is now the second-largest sorting centre within the Australia Post network. Designed with future expansion in mind, this facility positions Australia Post to effectively cater to the growing demands of the region both now and in the future.

The purpose-built facility, boasting cutting-edge infrastructure, encompasses parcel processing, pick-up and delivery services, as well as transport and linehaul operations. It also has the capacity to process up to 200,000 large and small parcels daily, with the flexibility to scale further.

This substantial increase in processing capabilities will enable Australia Post to meet the growing demands of the rapidly expanding area.

Australia Post Group Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director Paul Graham expressed his commitment to investing in infrastructure and technology that can adapt to the ever-changing needs of communities and customers in the Greater Western Sydney region.

“With the population of the Greater Western Sydney region projected to grow, we’re investing in infrastructure and technology that sets us up to support the ever-changing needs of our communities and our customers,” he said.

“We are also committed to ensuring our new facilities help deliver upon our 2025 Sustainability Roadmap. Together with Goodman, we’ve installed a 1,500-kilowatt solar array system on the roof, enabling an estimated carbon emission saving of 1,680 tonnes per annum.”

Minister for Communications Michelle Rowland commended Australia Post as a cherished national institution that provides invaluable services to Australian consumers and businesses.

“The Kemps Creek facility is supporting 400 jobs in one of the fastest-growing areas of Western Sydney, and creating a more efficient delivery network for local residents. I welcome investment in projects like these to ensure Australia Post remains at the cutting edge of parcel delivery and that it continues to meet the needs of all Australians,” she said.

The Kemps Creek Parcel Facility stands as a testament to Australia Post’s commitment to innovation, efficiency, and sustainability. With its state-of-the-art infrastructure and advanced sorting technology, it is poised to meet the surging demands of the region while minimizing its environmental impact.
