Global logistics company DP World has announced changes to its Australian executive leadership team as the business continues to expand across the APAC region.
Current DP World Australia Chief Executive Officer and MD, Glen Hilton, will be taking on the expanded role of Chief Executive Officer and MD of the DP World Asia-Pacific and Australasia region and will vacate his position.
Andrew Adam will assume the role of CEO of DP World Australia following several years as Chief Operating Officer of the business.
Adam has over 25 years’ experience in executive leadership roles across both the ports and container terminals and rail intermodal industries. Apart from being COO of DP World Australia, his roles also include SVP, Global Operations at DP World and President, Freight, at Pacific National.
“On behalf of the Board we’d like to congratulate Andrew on his new role as Chief Executive Officer at DP World Australia,” commented Hilton on Adam’s latest appointment.
“Andrew’s understanding of both DP World’s Australian and Global businesses is unmatched, and he has played a critical role in ensuring the ongoing strength and efficiency of our Australian business over recent years,” Hilton said.
On his new appointment, Adam said he is excited to be taking up the role of Chief Executive Officer at DP World Australia – a business he is immensely proud to be a part of.
“I am buoyed by the ongoing strength and success of our DP World Australia – the benefits of which will continue to flow to Australia’s businesses, consumers and the broader economy,” Adam said.
In a statement, DP World said that Adam brings invaluable experience and skills to the role with his strong commercial acumen and decisive leadership – strengths honed across nearly three decades of experience working within the industry.
These strengths, DP World stated, will be vital to DP World Australia as it progresses through its next chapter of growth.
