No warehouse left behind

Movu Robotics brings easier automation to the world’s warehouses, allowing end customers and integrators globally to benefit from a seamless and user-friendly plug-and-play warehouse automation ecosystem.

stow Group, a globally recognized leader in the design, manufacturing, and implementation of advanced storage solutions and automated warehouse systems, has launched the new “Movu Robotics” brand, developed to strengthen its “Robotics” business unit and to meet the strongly increasing demand for Automation and Robotics solutions. The new brand replaces the name “stow Robotics” as of Sep 19th 2023 and sits with stow Racking within the stow Group.

“Movu Robotics’ philosophy is: ‘no warehouse left behind’, tackling automation with easier, modular, scalable, flexible and efficient solutions that customers need and helps them to upgrade their warehouses,” says Jos de Vuyst, CEO of stow Group.

“In this way, stow is bringing automation and robotics opportunities to companies that would otherwise find them hard to attain. The higher simplicity of Movu Robotics’ range of innovative sub-systems reduces risk for customers and speeds roll out to help them meet the challenges of labour.”

The brand’s portfolio features the Movu atlas self-powered pallet carrier, which travels in all directions in a rack, enabling very dense automated pallet warehouses – from a smaller operation of a few thousand pallet places, up to large projects of 80,000.

The Movu Escala 3D robotic storage and fulfilment system uses shuttles to move bins in a rack, using simple ramps to travel between levels. Storage density, productivity and fulfilment accuracy are maximised for delivering goods in bins to picker workstations. As with the atlas, capacity can be increased with additional storage modules, and performance boosted with extra shuttles.

The Movu eligo piece picking arm robot, launched on September 19th, provides seamless integration as a pick station option for Escala. Picking from a multi-SKU source bin into multiple mixed-SKU destination bins can achieve 600 picks per hour.

For transporting pallets and bins from shuttle systems there are Movu ifollow Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMRs), which have the ability to operate in cold stores and work collaboratively with order pickers.

Together with supporting software, these technologies can be either standalone products or integrated to create an autonomous sub-system as a solution, which can boost customer performance, resilience and service levels.

Live demonstrations can be viewed at a state-of-the-art Experience Centre – one of the biggest in Europe – housed in Movu Robotics’ new headquarters, in Lokeren. Deep insights are also offered into the Movu Warehouse Execution System comprising Movu ops for managing all operations, Movu tower for checking available resources and selecting the most suitable shuttle or AMR, and Movu pilot that ensures the execution of the order at individual shuttle or AMR level. The new headquarters combines production, R&D, and manufacturing. Sales and the Experience Centre to fuel Movu Robotics’ continued innovation and growth.
