Woolworths Group’s supply chain arm, Primary Connect, has commenced construction of a new Western Sydney liquor distribution centre to service beverage giant Endeavour Group.

The 35,000 sqm Kemps Creeks Liquor Distribution Centre (DC) will be located at 2 Aldington Road, Kemps Creek in Oakdale West Industrial Estate.

Under the partnership agreement with Endeavour Group, the new facility will be managed by Primary Connect and service more than 400 Dan Murphy’s and BWS outlets and ALH hotels across New South Wales.

The site is expected to start operations in 2022.

At full capacity, more than 475,000 cartons will move through the liquor DC each week, bringing Endeavour Group customers products from more than 300 suppliers.

It will replace the current Erskine Park Liquor DC, which will be converted into an ambient grocery facility for Woolworths Supermarkets.

Endeavour Group General Manager Supply Chain, Angus McFadyen, said the group is excited about the development of a bespoke drinks distribution centre in Western Sydney.

“We carry more than 4,000 different products in our NSW stores from hundreds of suppliers, stocking everything from craft beer and small batch spirits to award-winning wines,” McFayden said.

“This purpose-built facility will help make the movement of goods easier for our suppliers and simpler for our stores,” he said.

He continued that the facility will also ensure that customers can continue to rely on them to find a wide variety of drinks to discover and support their purpose of creating a more sociable future together.

Commenting on the partnership, Primary Connect Acting Managing Director, Chris Brooks, said Primary Connect was delighted to work with Endeavour Group on a brand new development to deliver improved service to their store teams.

“It’s a major commercial agreement for Primary Connect, which recognises the scale and capability we can offer to external partners,” Brooks said.

“Importantly, the project will also deliver hundreds of new jobs in the fast-growing Western Sydney Aerotropolis.”

The new Kemps Creek Liquor DC is expected to provide employment for around 230 people, including a further 200 jobs supported during construction.
