The Opportunity

We have an opportunity for a Demand & Supply Planner looking after a Medical Device portfolio including patient specific custom implants order management, to ensure the effectiveness of the supply & customer service process. A key objective is to ensure the accuracy of our demand forecast and timely communication of any potential demand changes to the Regional Planning team & suppliers. This role is also responsible for the effective inventory planning to minimize inventory write offs due to excess stock and ensure stock levels are correct to service the business.

Other key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Conduct regular Sales & Operations Planning meetings with relevant Sales & Marketing & Finance team members
  • Communicate any potential material demand changes to the Regional Planning team (RPT) demand & supply planners/source contact as soon as possible
  • End to end responsibility for the timely material creation process in support of on time and in budget new product introduction
  • Work with all stakeholders to ensure supply chain readiness for timely New Product Introduction
  • Work with the Regional Planning team & Marketing to decide phase in/out strategy and the optimal inventory levels to maximize sales opportunities while minimizing ES&O from NPI
  • Product Portfolio review & recommend product rationalization based on demand forecast
  • Management of end-of-life material master maintenance
  • Work with all stakeholders to ensure successful NPI & liaise with all relevant stakeholders locally to ensure high product availability

The demand planning function is critical to the success of the organization and as such, we are seeking candidates who offer the following:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Supply Chain and/or related field
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage at all levels, both internally and externally;
  • Excellent presentation development and delivery skills;
  • Strong SAP experience with intermediate/advance excel skills
  • Experience in S&OP or IBP
  • Excellent problem solving & analytical skills
  • Previous experience with advanced planning systems such as APO and OMP is advantageous
  • Good understanding of inventory management concepts & processes
  • Experience in forecasting and MRP planning
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to prioritise a changing workload.
