Ai Group executive joins Ministerial Advisory Board for Jobs and Skills Australia

The Australian Industry Group has congratulated Megan Lilly on her selection to the recently formed Ministerial Advisory Board of Jobs and Skills Australia.

The board, chaired by Minister for Skills and Training Brendan O’Connor and JSA Commissioner Professor Barney Glover, will offer impartial, expert guidance on the nation’s skills, labour market, and workforce requirements over the next five years, starting from April.

Appointed members of the board will play a crucial role in charting Australia’s skills agenda, and ensuring gender equality and economic inclusion for First Nations peoples, individuals from culturally diverse backgrounds, and those with disabilities are central to JSA’s initiatives.

Lilly, currently serving as the executive director of the Ai Group Centre for Education and Training, has been appointed as the joint Deputy Chair of the board.

Expressing her gratitude for the opportunity, Lilly emphasised the role of skills development in the current landscape.

She highlighted the critical work ahead for Jobs and Skills Australia and its Ministerial Advisory Board, emphasising the need for collaboration and strategic planning to address the evolving needs of the workforce.

“There is so much happening in the skills, education and training space. It is hard to imagine a time when skills have been more important. Jobs and Skills Australia and its Ministerial Advisory Board have important work to do in driving the skills agenda for the nation.

I’m looking forward to continuing to contribute to the exciting progress being made and working with other Board members and stakeholders,” said Lilly.
