Amazon Australia has announced plans onboard over 2,000 seasonal workers to support fulfilment of customer orders for the festive season.
The e-commerce giant said that applications are now open in Sydney, Melbourne, Sydney, Melbourne, Perth, Brisbane, Adelaide, Newcastle and the Gold Coast. Flexible work arrangements are also available, delivering packages under the company’s Amazon Flex program.
The company said it is looking for people to help pick, pack, ship customer orders with no previous experience required.
“As we head into the holiday season, we’re pleased to offer over 2,000 new seasonal work opportunities for Australians around the country, at a time when thanks to cost of living pressures they are needed most,” said Mindy Espidio-Garcia, Director of Operations at Amazon Australia.
“Whatever your personal or professional situation, there’s a job or earning opportunity for you with Amazon,” she said.
Applications will be open until Black Friday.
“Seasonal roles are great for those who want something shorter term like students on their summer break, while flexible opportunities are perfect for those who want to earn around their existing schedule or are looking for an additional income stream,” Espidio-Garcia said.
“This might be a parent who wants some additional money for gifts this holiday season, someone saving for their summer getaway or a retiree who’s looking for something to keep them busy while earning a bit of extra cash,” she said.
The company said that seasonal roles at its fulfilment centres and logistics sites may present a path to permanent employment and a long-term career with them.
For Australians interested in more flexible work arrangements, the company said they can sign up to Amazon Flex and deliver Amazon packages to customers using their own vehicle. Amazon Flex provides drivers the opportunity to work when it suits them and earn extra money in their free time.

Amazon Australia said these new opportunities come at an ideal time as Australians face increased cost of living pressure and may be looking for supplementary forms of income, particularly in the lead up to the holiday season.
