Ampcontrol, a supplier of electrical and electronic solutions, announced a milestone Power Purchase Agreement to link the power utilised by its New South Wales sites with sustainable sources.

This initiative aims to balance operating emissions and reinforce the sustainable energy industry. The 10-year agreement, produced with moderate energy provider Flow Power, denotes a huge step towards Ampcontrol’s obligation to decrease its environmental footprint.

At first, the company will source GreenPower-certified electricity, enhanced by large-scale generation certifications from the Karadoc Solar Farm in north-western Victoria for the initial year and a half.

“Through changes made to our operational emissions, Ampcontrol can walk the talk in reducing our environmental impact and making more sustainable business decisions,” said Managing Director & CEO of Ampcontro, Rod Henderson.

For the resulting eight-and-a-half years, Ampcontrol will obtain generation from both wind and solar farms in NSW, adjusting closely with its utilisation profile.

This strategy guarantees exhaustive renewable coverage, with the consolidated projects expected to satisfy 100% of Ampcontrol’s energy necessities every year.

The drive comes from Ampcontrol’s cooperation with other Hunter-based organisations, facilitated by its support of the NSW Government Sustainability Advantage program.

“This is a significant milestone on our net zero journey and is a great example of collaborating for impact. By joining other organisations, we can invest in the renewable energy industry right here in the Hunter,” said Ampcontrol Sustainability manager, Sam Parris.

“Flow Power is proud to be partnering with Ampcontrol as they take this exciting step towards achieving their Net Zero goals,” said Chief Revenue Officer at Flow Power, Jacob Mahoney.
