Bertling Logistics and Clemenger International Freight have joined forces to establish a new joint venture company called Clemenger Bertling Projects in Australia.

The new company, which will begin its operations in July, is expected to have a big impact on the nation’s logistics sector. The business will be established in Perth, and it will also have offices in Melbourne, Sydney, and Brisbane in addition to a wide network of Australian partners and suppliers.

“Australia has always been an important market for Bertling Logistics, and our global team is passionate about all the new business opportunities arising in the country,” Bertling Logistics CEO Colin MacIsaac said.

“Clemenger’s skilled team, high-quality services, and widespread local network are well-known within Australia. We are convinced that our new JV will obtain a leading position in the Australian logistics market and that we will be ideally positioned to adequately respond to and serve the logistics needs arising from the ongoing energy transition.”

Assuming the position of General Manager, Chris Nicholson will oversee the recently created joint venture company. Nicholson has been working for Clemenger since 2015 and brings a wealth of knowledge to the table with over 35 years of experience in project logistics and international freight forwarding.

Clemenger and Bertling have been agency partners in the Australian market since 2015. While Bertling excels in international project logistics and transport engineering, Clemenger specialises in ordinary freight forwarding and in-house customs clearance services.

With the partners planning to collaboratively explore both new and existing business opportunities in Australia, the joint venture company will focus on the flourishing energy, mining, and construction sectors to provide responsible logistics solutions that adhere to local operating standards for health, safety, and the environment.

“We are proud to have in Bertling Logistics a loyal partner to add value and broaden our local service offering in Australia and to diversify our portfolio,” Clemenger Managing Director Michael Clemenger said.

“We know their dedication, go-anywhere approach, and high-quality transport engineering know-how very well from our long-term collaboration and look forward to consolidating our both companies’ competencies under one roof from now on.”
