Dronamics, the world’s first cargo drone airline, announced the appointment of Gavin Gomes as General Manager, Dronamics Australia, and a member of the senior management team, effective August.

Gavin’s history spans a few areas, including new businesses, private companies, listed entities, and worldwide multinationals like Canon, Australia Post, Telstra, and IBM. A certified pilot, he likewise fills in as a non-executive director of the Royal Victorian Aero Club and CM Pacific Pty Ltd.

Gavin’s passion for aviation and extensive leadership experience will help further establish Dronamics in Australia, a market where the organisation has had a presence starting around 2020.

In 2022, Dronamics got endorsement to conduct experimental test flights with a sub-scale model of its flagship, remotely steered aeroplane, the Black Swan.

That very year, Dronamics signed a manufacturing arrangement with Quickstep Holdings Limited (ASX: QHL), the biggest independent aviation composite business in Australia, to assist with increasing its demand for its freight mobility services. With various commercial partnerships for the local market, Dronamics’ long-range, high-payload cargo drone tasks can be a unique advantage for industries including perishables, mail, pharma, e-commerce, and mining.

“Australia has demonstrated an enormous appetite for what Dronamics can offer—faster, more affordable, lower-emission freight, connecting underserved and remote communities and businesses through cargo drone logistics. We are committed to serving the needs of the local market, and we are thrilled to have Gavin’s experience and expertise to support that,” said Co-Founder and CEO of Dronamics Svilen Rangelov.

“Dronamics’ commitment to transforming the future of cargo delivery through drone technology is both inspiring and groundbreaking. I look forward to leading a team of dedicated professionals and collaborating with stakeholders to drive Dronamics’ growth and contribute to the advancement of the Australian logistics and aviation industry,” said Dronamics Australia General Manager Gavin Gomes.
