Brisbane-based startup EVOS has secured $5 million from existing investors of its consumer-grade home charger for electric vehicles (EV) this month, expanding on its existing charging solutions, which have primarily targeted EV fleet operators.

EVOS was launched by CEO Marcelo Salgado, Chief Experience & Innovation Officer Seshan Weeratunga and Chief Technology Officer Chris Crossman.

“This investment validates all the hard work the team has put in since we launched our company and it shows the belief our investors have in a home-grown manufacturer being able to deliver game-changing offerings for Australians,” Salgado said.

The fleet specialist energy management and AC charging released a statement on Wednesday stating that the round will make it possible for it to begin bringing innovative technologies to market “Ideal for several EV charging use cases to address challenges for EV fleet operators and EV homeowners/renters, among many others.”

The announcement comes just over a year after EVOS launched its fleet home 22 AC charger at MCY, and two years after it raised $1.7 million in seed financing with help from a significant auto producer and an ASX100-listed company.

“Since launching, we have unveiled our first charger, the Fleet Home 22 AC Charger, and our patented Smart Start solution to help fleet and EV owners simplify and reduce the cost of charging. We now have several new products on the roadmap and this investment will help bring them to market much more quickly,” said Salgado.

In addition to launching its ground-breaking products, EVOS has added 22 employees to its manufacturing, sales, and engineering departments since its seed round in 2021.

“We’ve seen tremendous growth not just within our team but the opportunities for electric vehicles in Australia,” Crossman said.

The EVOS Fleet Home22 AC Charger was the first Australian-made home charger to be made accessible and available. It was made to help fleet businesses better manage costs and energy, to be easy to install and remove, and to make it easier for drivers to charge.

The company’s first product, the new home charger will be introduced in Brisbane on 19 July.
