Only days remain in a raffle for an “Expedition Truck” valued at $265,000 with all proceeds going directly to researching Motor Neurone Disease (MND).

The vehicle is the fifth to be raffled by Australia’s largest transport and logistics specialist insurer, NTI, with the winner to be announced at Supercars NTI Townsville 500 on July 10.

This year NTI will have raised more than a million dollars for MND research over the past five years.

NTI CEO Tony Clark said the 2022 prize was unique.

“To celebrate borders being open and a sense of adventure, this year’s prize is actually two vehicles in one – a 4×4 crew cab truck with tray, and a luxury 3.5 metre motorhome,” Clark said.

“The truck can seat seven, and the motorhome has a lounge for five, so they offer the perfect opportunity to explore Australia with friends and family.

“The motorhome boasts all the latest technology and is set up simply by pressing a button. It’s luxury on wheels with a queen-sized bed, kitchenette, air conditioning, indoor and outdoor showers, LED lighting and TV, solar panels, water storage systems, and more.”

Clark explained the organisation wanted to help fund research into a cure for MND after NTI’s former CEO, Wayne Patterson, lost his battle with the disease in 2018.

“Two people are diagnosed with MND and two people die from the disease every day in Australia,” he said.

“We saw how it affected Wayne and wanted to honour his legacy by helping to fund medical research into a treatment and ultimately a cure for MND.

“The money raised from this year’s raffle, which has already surpassed $200,000, will be given to the MND and Me Foundation via NTI’s official research grant to provide the University of Queensland with funds for medical research.”

The winner of NTI’s Expedition Truck will be announced at 1.10pm on Sunday 10 July at the Supercars event at Reid Park Street Circuit, Townsville.
