Frasers Property Industrial has secured a 10-year leasing deal with National Tyre & Wheel, the largest independent, multi-branded tyre and wheel wholesalers in Australia and New Zealand, at Berrinba Logistics Park in Queensland.

With this latest deal, the 21-hectare Berrinba Logistics Park will be fully leased.

The transaction will see the ASX-listed company occupy a 21,018 square metre warehouse, ideal for tyre storage, and an adjoined 418 square metre office facility.

Frasers said that all facilities are targeting a 5-Star Green Star Design and As-Built v1.3 certified ratings from the Green Building Council of Australia.

NTAW’s new facility is expected to reach completion in early 2023.

“Berrinba Logistics Park has become one of Queensland’s most sought-after industrial estates thanks to its proximity to the recently constructed Logan Motorway interchange at Berrinba, as well as the Gateway Motorway and M1 Motorway,” said Troy Whalan, General Manager – Queensland for Frasers Property Industrial.

“We have experienced significant demand for facilities at the estate and we are proud to have the expansive estate fully leased following the leasing deal with the region’s largest independent wheel and tyre wholesaler, National Tyre & Wheel,” Whalan said.

Frasers said that National Tyre & Wheel will join home improvement product supplier Pinnacle Hardware, global logistics and supply chain company CEVA Logistics, and transport and logistics company, TCK Alliance, which operates as Wise Space, at the industrial estate.

“After an exhaustive property search, NTAW is delighted to have secured a new facility within the Berrinba Logistics Park that will service our logistics requirements for years to come,” said Cameron Watson, Chief Supply Chain Officer at National Tyre and Wheels.

Watson continued that it is an ideal facility for NTAW’s wholesale tyre volume, which exceeded 2.5 million units in 2020.

“We are excited to be partnering with Frasers Property Industrial and look forward to seeing the facility come to life,” he said.

With an internal clearance of 12.2 metres, which will be accessible via seven roller doors and six recessed docks, the facility also includes separate heavy vehicle access, a 15-metre-wide awning and 55-metre-wide hardstand set down area.

With sustainability in mind, Frasers said the facility will feature on-site solar panels to generate clean electricity, including a rainwater storage tank connected to the landscape irrigation system and main office bathroom amenities.

The company also said that water efficient commercial grade sanitary fixtures will feature throughout.

“We are delighted to have been able to successfully negotiate a pre-commitment on behalf of our valued client NTAW,” said Grant Pickford, Director of JACX Property.

“In such a competitive market, it is imperative that a strong working relationship is developed between landlord and customer, and we thank Frasers Property Industrial for their efforts in going the extra mile to exceed our client’s requirements,” Pickford said.

JACX Property were advisors to NTAW for this deal. The property brief was presented to the market by Shaun Canniffe of JLL.
