Lockheed Martin Australia has declared that it is sponsoring the Melbourne Space Program (MSP), a non-profit association committed to delivering Australia’s future space pioneers.

MSP teams up with tertiary students from different disciplines, including engineering, business, and law, to furnish them with advanced instructive experiences in complex innovation projects.

“We are proud to be sponsoring the Melbourne Space Program, an organisation whose groundbreaking work closely aligns with Lockheed Martin Australia’s values of innovation and excellence,” said Lockheed Martin Space Regional Director for Australia and New Zealand, David Ball.

The year sponsorship is essential for the defence organisation’s obligation to support and enable the next generation of engineers, analysts, and researchers who will shape the nation’s protection and space sectors.

“As a steward of Australia’s space industry and the preferred tenderer for JP9102, this is one of many investments we have made in science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM) as we focus on building a skilled workforce capable of meeting Australia’s future economic and national security needs,” Ball added.

Maxwell Jones, CEO of the Melbourne Space Program, said Lockheed Martin’s sponsorship will empower the program to scale its drives and guarantee more students can make important commitments to space. Thus, Lockheed Martin will actually want to establish associations with future industry pioneers.

“By offering our members challenges beyond the scope of a typical university curriculum, we aim to develop individuals who will drive significant positive change in technology sectors around the globe,” said Jones.

The program plans to draw in students in each lifecycle period of a space project. Students are furnished with innovation that they can use as an impetus to support their energy, construct genuine experiences, and foster creative arrangements lined up with industry patterns.
