Let’s get to know our IBP Strategy Clinic Speaker, Eric Wilson. He is the Director – Thought Leadership, Institute of Business Forecasting and Planning (US). He will also give an overview of his session; international keynote: creating a roadmap for IBP success.

What inspires you to be part of the supply chain sector?

In the land of the blind, the one-eyed man is king – The one-eyed man of business is the ones that can see and plan for what will happen in the future i.e. supply chain and forecasting professionals.

What is the key theme you want people to talk away from your talk?

avoiding the pitfalls of today and enabling the S&OP/IBP of tomorrow

Can you please give us a brief preview of your talk/panel discussion?

68% of S&OP implementations will fail or stall before reaching maturity in the next 5 years. If we are struggling to keep up with the business of today, how can we keep pace with tomorrow. In my session, we will look at why the 23% succeed and innovative strategies and a roadmap for the next generation of S&OP.

What’s the best lesson you’ve learned in your career so far?

You don’t know what you don’t know – continuous learning is critical and there is always something new to discover and you can use

What advice can you give to those who are looking at a career in Supply Chain?

Learn – discover – and advance. Learn as much as you can from forms like this one and others, discover and challenge yourself with new opportunities, and give back to the supply chain community so we can all grow together.
