The Franchise Council of Australia has announced Richard Thame as its new chair, succeeding Brendan Green, who led the organisation for four years.

Thame, with a broad leadership background, is committed to guiding the FCA through future challenges.

Amber Manning, CEO of Just Cuts, will take on the role of deputy chair, bringing further experience to the leadership team.

Jayson Westbury has been appointed as the new CEO. Westbury, who has over 30 years of leadership experience, previously served as CEO of the Australian Travel Industry Association. His experience in public policy was highlighted by Thame, who believes it will be pivotal for the FCA moving forward.

Brendan Green, reflecting on his tenure, expressed gratitude for the opportunity to contribute to the FCA and voiced his confidence in the new leadership. Thame, Manning, and Westbury are expected to continue building on the council’s strong foundation, focusing on key challenges and opportunities within Australia’s franchising industry.

The FCA is a peak body representing franchise businesses across the country, supporting over 1,300 franchise systems and more than 80,000 franchisees. The council aims to promote a strong, sustainable, and fair franchising sector through advocacy, education, and best practice standards.

The new appointments come at a pivotal time for the franchising industry, which continues to adapt to evolving consumer preferences and regulatory changes. Thame and Westbury’s leadership is expected to guide the FCA in addressing key industry concerns, including growth opportunities, innovation, and sustainability.
