The New South Wales Government has launched a new Consumer Energy Strategy aimed at reducing energy costs and enhancing efficiency for households and businesses.
The strategy, unveiled by Minister for Energy Penny Sharpe, seeks to tackle rising energy prices and improve energy management across the state.
Under the new strategy, NSW will see the rollout of several initiatives designed to empower consumers. This includes enhancing access to information about energy usage and providing tools to help manage and reduce energy bills.
The strategy also focuses on increasing support for energy-efficient appliances and technologies, making them more affordable and accessible to residents and businesses alike.
Minister Sharpe highlighted the importance of the initiative, stating, “This strategy is all about giving people the tools they need to make informed decisions about their energy use. By improving access to information and supporting the adoption of energy-efficient technologies, we can help NSW residents and businesses save on their energy bills while also reducing their environmental footprint.”
The strategy also includes provisions for expanding community solar programs and energy-saving upgrades for low-income households, ensuring that the benefits of the new measures are broadly felt across the state.
In addition, the NSW Government will be working closely with industry partners to promote innovative energy solutions and drive competition in the energy market, further contributing to lower prices and better services for consumers.
The rollout of this new strategy is expected to start in the coming months, with a focus on delivering tangible results for energy consumers across New South Wales.
