Primary Connect, Woolworths Group’s supply chain and logistics arm, has announced a new partnership with Ron Finemore Transport to create exciting innovative transport solutions for its customers.

Under the latest vehicle deal, five 30m B-Double high cube combinations were added to Primary Connect’s network in June 2022.

Primary Connect and Ron Finemore Transport worked closely with trailer supplier engineers and relevant local government bodies to bring the next generation 100-pallet high productivity vehicles into service.

The B-Double high cube trailer combination is currently being used in the Primary Connect network to transport ambient freight between Sydney – Wodonga and Brisbane – Wodonga, lifting each lane capacity by an extra 10 per cent.

Each of these new vehicle combinations means 80 less B-Double trucks movements on our roads per year as well as reduced emissions and other environmental benefits.

This partnership benefits the future growth for both businesses with safety, reliability, efficiency and sustainability at top of mind.

“Ron Finemore Transport continues to make investments in higher productivity equipment as we seek to deliver to our customers safely, reliably and more cost effectively,” said Mark Parry, Managing Director of Ron Finemore Transport.

“These investments are part of a continuous journey to safely increase productivity which benefits the community and helps reduce emissions per pallet carried,” Parry said.

The partnership is the latest in Primary Connect’s series of investments in developing innovative transport solutions.

In April, the national logistics business trialed the first approved 35-metre A-Double combination operating in the Sydney region, through its partnership with Don Watson Transport, to help businesses create more efficient ways to move goods for their customers during the pandemic.

Primary Connect has also recently teamed up with logistics company Linfox to launch a new electric truck on Melbourne’s roads that will help lay the groundwork for greener supply chain logistics.
