Röhlig Logistics appoints new global sea freight director

Röhlig Logistics, an owner-managed logistics company, has announced the appointment of Simon Albrecht as its new Global Sea Freight Director effective 1 July. 

In his new role, Albrecht will report to Hylton Gray who is the CEO of Sea Freight, Air Freight, Contract Logistics & Sales and a member of the Global Executive Board. 

“We are delighted to fill the key role of Global Sea Freight Director with Simon Albrecht. He brings a wealth of logistics expertise, backed by a long-term track record in the industry,” Gray said. 

“With his support, we will continue to drive the strategic growth of our sea freight business.” 

Simon Albrecht, who holds a Master’s degree in Digital Business Management and boasts 25 years of experience in the logistics sector, expressed his enthusiasm about joining Röhlig Logistics.  

“Röhlig has an excellent reputation, and I am very much looking forward to being part of this international team and playing an active role in the company’s development,” he said.  

Albrecht highlighted that one of his main focuses would be on driving network expansion by entering new markets and extending their carrier portfolio. He also emphasised the importance of ensuring access to alternative fuel technologies to provide low-carbon shipping options. 

Prior to his appointment at Röhlig Logistics, Albrecht served as Global Key Account Manager at Maersk, where he showcased his expertise and contributed significantly to the company’s success. 

Röhlig Logistics intends to expand its position in the marine freight sector with Albrecht’s vast industry knowledge and strategic vision. To address the changing needs of its clients, the organisation is devoted to providing new solutions and sustainable practices.
