Southwest Healthcare automates current warehouse with Dematic 

South West Healthcare‘s automated new Regional Logistics Distribution Centre (RLDC) in Warrnambool, which began construction in January 2023, Dematic is working with the company.

Warrnambool Base Hospital redevelopment project, which is being funded by the Victorian Government, RLDC is moving from its previous location on the Warrnambool Base Hospital campus. Construction on the project began in January 2023. This will be at the current clinic site, opening up space for essential well-being administrations inside a brand-new multi-storey clinical tower. 

“We provide more than 150 medical, nursing, mental health, allied health and community health services to the 110,000 people who live across the South West of Victoria and in Warrnambool, one of the fastest-growing regional cities in Victoria,” says South West Healthcare. 

With the help of Dematic’s warehouse control system software, the Dematic solution will be incorporated into South West Healthcare’s host system, offering comprehensive system management and optimisation capabilities. 

“We are also the region’s largest employer, with 1996 people working for South West Healthcare across various locations,” South West Healthcare added. 

The RLDC will present products, equipment, cloth, and warehousing administrations to the Warrnambool Base Hospital, as well as other general well-being services in the locale.
