Logistics giant Toll Group has joined in strengthening Australia’s national vaccine rollout, with the launch of its dedicated vaccination hubs across key Melbourne sites to help protect its employees against COVID-19.

The program is available on a voluntary basis to all Toll employees, casuals, contractors and subcontractors.

About 3,000 team members will be able to access first and second dose Pfizer vaccines.

Employees can access the vaccinations at Toll’s Truganina and Altona North sites, including its main office in St Kilda Rd over the week.

Toll also said that the program is set to be expanded to more locations across Melbourne and other states in the coming weeks.

Peter Stokes, Global Logistics President at Toll, emphasised in a statement that vaccination is one of the most important ways we can keep our people and communities safe.

“We know that accelerating the rate of vaccination is key to protecting our people and communities, as well as supporting the easing of restrictions,” Stokes said.

“As one of Australia’s largest logistics companies, and an essential service provider, it’s important we do everything we can to support the vaccination rollout, including giving our employees priority access to vaccinations at a time and place that is convenient to them,” he said.

Toll Group is also offering paid vaccination leave for Australian employees and a monthly vaccination reward program for its fully vaccinated members.

In NSW last month, another logistics company announced its commitment to the vaccine rollout. Linfox Logistics delivered COVID-19 Pfizer vaccines, allocated by the Federal and NSW Governments, to its eligible team members.

“The COVID-19 pandemic is by far one of the greatest public health challenges we have ever faced,” said Mark Mazurek, CEO of Linfox Logistics Australia and New Zealand.

“This allocation of vaccines means we can support our frontline workers who continue to deliver for our communities, and fast track the recovery of our nations,” he said.
