Australian med-tech company vaxxvault has signed a deal with the AFL in what is likely a test-case for how industries with a large and distributed workforce, such as the transport industry, can go about bringing people back to work safely.

vaxxvault will be providing support in monitoring the COVID-19 vaccination, testing and booster programs of more than 5,000 AFL and AFLW players, umpires, staff and contractors.

Using vaxxvault’s app, users will be able to securely upload vaccination documentation and rapid antigen testing results into the encrypted cloud-based platform in-line with AFL protocols.

The vaxxvault platform is capable of quickly capturing and analysing vast volumes of data across an organisation. The system provides live visibility of workforce status and can send testing alerts or vaccination reminders to players and staff.

Testing and vaccination management information for all staff at AFL headquarters, AFL clubs, players and support staff, as well as umpires, will be transferred to vaxxvault ahead of the AFL men’s 2022 competition.

“For the AFL that manages a distributed network of club staff, players and contractors, vaxxvault provides a purpose-built platform designed to capture and analyse highly-sensitive testing and vaccination data in a secure, yet easily manageable way,” said Gregory Johnson, Director and Co-Founder of vaxxvault.

“vaxxvault provides the tools and capability to better manage travel, safety and compliance within the highly dynamic national and international pandemic environment,” Johnson said.

“Our platform uses medical-grade data encryption, and protects employee privacy through measures such as not relying on personally identifiable details to communicate through the vaxxvault app,” he explained.

Johnson said with demand increasing for people to get back to workplaces, in an environment of new variants, booster programs and borders reopening, the pandemic is set to remain a challenge for business operations for many years to come.

vaxxvault has been designed as a solution for Directors and Boards seeking an effective solution to protect their people and business from the COVID risk environment.

“COVID can impact people, operations and entire ecosystems in a matter of minutes. vaxxvault provides organisations with the ability to identify risks quickly and send out alerts in an instant,” Johnson said.

“We’re currently in discussions with a number of enterprises, from banks and transport to mining and food production, who are struggling to manage employee vaccination and testing programs without the tools to safely and effectively get on with business while coexisting with the virus,” he concluded.
