Woolworths launches new online shopping platform

Supermarket chain Woolworths Group has officially launched its new online shopping platform to help Australian businesses procure groceries and other essential supplies.
Woolworths at Work will allow workplaces in Australia to shop online for fresh food, kitchen and cleaning suppliers, and other essential products.
The new service ranges more than 20,000 products from fresh food to stationary and cleaning products, including over 5,000 Woolworths Own Brand products.
The platform services customers across Australia from small and medium sized businesses to large enterprises, in sectors including early childhood education, healthcare, charities, and offices.
“At a time when businesses expect flexibility, reliability, transparency and control from their suppliers, we’re offering this in the form of a grocery service that has been grown for business,” said Jarad Nass, Work General Manager at Woolworths.
Nass said they tested the service starting in September 2020, with industries such as early learning centres as well as disability, legal and professional services.
“This gave us the opportunity to test and learn with our current and future customers from a wide range of industries such as early learning centres to disability, legal and professional services, on how we best build the future of grocery procurement,” he said.
Woolworths at Work features 2 hour delivery windows, a nationwide seven day service and an intelligent Work Hub.

It also includes next day delivery for orders over $99 and no extra fees for packaging, bulk orders or handling.
“The business grocery category often tends to be decentralised, which means it has not typically had the transparency and ability to manage costs in this space,” Nass said.
“As a result some businesses haven’t had the means to really understand what it’s costing them every year,” he said.
“Via our Work Hub we’re able to offer businesses real-time spend reports and access to transactional level spend data for deeper analysis, helping organisations make more strategic business decisions.”
He continued that with businesses facing staff shortages and ongoing Covid disruptions, the service can help customers manage their orders efficiently, which will provide them with time back to focus on their core business.
“We’ve worked hard to create a smart, convenient and efficient service, and pleased we’re now able to use these capabilities to help make our customers’ lives easier,” Nass concluded.
