DHL Supply Chain and independent mobile robots (AMR) experts Locus Robotics have declared the deployment of completely coordinated LocusBots in a first for the Asia-Pacific district.

“At DHL Supply Chain Australia we are leading the industry in automation research and development to create truly scalable, efficient and effective solutions for our customers,” said CEO of DHL Supply Chain Australia & New Zealand, Steve Thompsett.

The system is powered by LocusOne, the business’ first data information science-driven distribution centre automation platform for the big business-wide independent mobile robot (AMR) deployment, which brings value by giving insights that drive informed decision-making.

“It’s important for us to innovate and to consistently optimise our customers’ supply chains,” said Thompsett.

DHL is the biggest client of Locus Robotics around the world. This extension expands on the organisation that started in 2017 in North America.

“Investment in technology for the medical sector is moving forward. DHL’s investment in automation and digitisation is crucial for Terumo Australia as it enables us to respond faster to increasing supply requirements, aligning with rising demand,” said Terumo Managing Director Jeff Soo.

This automated solution is GAMP 5-approved and is confirmed for clinical and drug conveyance. This solution is essential for the biggest investment in robotics and automation DHL has made in Asia-Pacific, with 1000 robots to be conveyed across several sectors by 2025.

“This collaboration represents a significant step towards enhancing capacity, optimising operational processes, and elevating DHL’s customer experiences. Together, we are paving the way for a more intelligent, agile, and sustainable supply chain future,” said CEO of Locus Robotics, Rick Faulk.

DHL currently has robotic solutions in every key geology (North America, Latin America, Europe, Joined Realm, Asia Pacific), and plans to send up to 5,000 bots in the years to come.

DHL’s system will proceed with interest in launching industry-leading innovative solutions for clinical devices, cold chains, pharmaceuticals and consumer health clients.
