DroneShield joint with Lockheed Martin to strengthen UAS defence 

DroneShield announced its organisation with Lockheed Martin Australia’s Science, Innovation, Engineering, Leadership and Research Laboratory for the Agile Shield program. 

Kevin McDonald, Integrated Systems Lead for Agile Shield at STELaRLab, gave experiences into the program’s abilities. 

“STELaRLab’s contribution included the development of the open mission systems architecture and acting as the prime systems integrator. The addition of proven C-UAS jammers, such as DroneCannon Mk2, is part of Agile Shield’s planned transition from the virtual world to field demonstrations which occurred in October 2023,” McDonald said. 

As a feature of their cooperation, Lockheed Martin will showcase the joined system to its defence clients, with orders set as needed to DroneShield when sales happen. 

Red McClintock, the Director of Sales at DroneShield, highlighted the significance of this joint effort, taking note that DroneCannon Mk2 is a deeply grounded effector with worldwide recognition. 

It is presently sent in the Eastern European district and has gotten choices and proposals from the US Branch of Safeguard for base security needs. 

While the specific financial worth of expected deals stays uncertain at this stage, being significant over the long run is expected. DroneShield said it will give further direction when more data opens up. 

“We are excited to be working with Lockheed Martin and DST Group’s Agile Shield program and are looking forward to growing this business relationship,” McClintock said.
