Procurement Australia announces resignation of CEO

Procurement Australia, one of Australia’s leading procurement services companies, has announced that Joe Arena has resigned as Chief Executive Officer effective 24 April 2023.

“On behalf of the Board, I would like to thank Joe for his 10 years of service. We acknowledge what he has achieved during his time at Procurement Australia,” Procurement Australia Chair Glenn Patterson said in his tribute to Joe Arena.

Following his resignation, Procurement Australia’s Board has appointed Strategic Sourcing Director Brendan Hoare to the role of Interim CEO.

As a leader in negotiating and facilitating contracts for members and clients with decades of experience across both the private and public sectors, Procurement Australia’s quick appointment of an Interim CEO is to ensure business continuity in delivering the best value for members and creating collaborative purchasing arrangements.

As an executive leader in the business with over a decade’s tenure and experience acting as CEO on previous occasions, the company selected Brendan as the ideal person to lead the Procurement Australia team through this transition period.

The Board will immediately undertake a careful recruitment process for a new CEO and will provide updates to stakeholders in due course.

Procurement Australia is supported by a strong and dedicated team of executive leaders and experienced senior staff who will continue to guide its business operations as normal, working in in partnership with buyers and suppliers to find innovative and sustainable solutions to procurement challenges.

The Procurement Australia Board acknowledges Mr Arena’s tenure and wishes him well with all his future endeavours.
