SAP and Linfox partners for warehouse solutions

Enterprise application programming company SAP has assisted Linfox with making a custom digital warehouse solution (DWS) to upgrade the start-to-finish tasks of its warehouse locales. 

Utilising SAP’s warehouse management application, the custom DWS was completely carried out across Linfox’s stockrooms toward the finish of 2020. 

“DWS powered by SAP has freed our team members to focus on higher value tasks, increasing our flexibility as a logistics partner,” said Chief Information Officer, Linfox, Nick Delija. 

The implementation authorised Linfox to coordinate different automation arrangements that were stumbling into various sites, incorporating, and smoothing out vital cycles including stock administration, picking, put away, cold chain storage, dock arrangement scheduling, cross-docking, and dangerous merchandise for the management. 

“This was particularly crucial during the pandemic when managing the distribution of vaccines. DWS has also increased our speed to market, bolstering our competitiveness and exceeding customer expectations. When we work with SAP to seamlessly integrate with automation solutions, there are a lot of benefits,” Delija said. 

Three of Linfox’s warehouse sites are currently totally robotised through DWS, with innovation including mechanised capacity and recovery systems (ASRS), mechanical palletizers, and the most recent products to individual distribution centre arrangements.

“The transport, logistics and supply chain sectors have undergone significant change over the last few years, driven by ongoing pandemic-related disruption, and being able to react quickly to unexpected market and supply chain disruptions is critical to success,” said the President and Managing Director, SAP Australia and New Zealand, Damien Bruno. 

The solution will have a fundamental impact in normalising business processes across the association, empowering key revealing, the arrangement of ongoing information and further interest in automation to more likely serve its clients.
