Commercial real-estate firm CBRE has recruited Paul Kernan to a newly created role leading its specialised Property Management – Industrial & Logistics (I&L) platform in Victoria.

Kernan has joined CBRE after seven years at Colliers International, where he most recently held an Associate Director role and was responsible for a mixed office, retail and industrial portfolio in Melbourne’s South East City Fringe.

Kernan brings to CBRE nearly 10 years working in the I&L sector for both institutional owners and property agencies, and is regarded as a market leader in the I&L property management space, displaying forward thinking around tenant and property considerations.

Simon Franklin, Head of CBRE Victoria’s Property Management team, said Kernan’s appointment would further strengthen and differentiate the local Property Management team’s expertise and client offering in the industrial and logistics space.

“Paul’s appointment is the first of many specialist hires for our Victorian Property Management team across all sectors, designed to meet specific client needs in today’s market,” Franklin said.

“With exponential growth forecast for the industrial and logistics area of our Property Management business, we’ve focused on targeted recruitment and employing great talent to bolster the market leading services offering by our I&L leasing and capital markets teams,” he said.

Dean Hunt, Executive Managing Director of CBRE’s Victorian business, said CBRE was number one in I&L investment sales and leasing, and that this specialised and highly skilled resource would enable CBRE to take a market leading position in management also.
