FedEx boosts Asia Pacific delivery with International Economy Services

FedEx Express has announced that it is enhancing its international delivery services to meet the region’s rising demand for dependable and diverse services.

The new service that expands FedEx Express’s presence in the Asia Pacific area includes improved transit times for FedEx International Priority® Services, providing customers with more choices for different needs.

“Businesses, particularly small businesses, are looking for ways to introduce efficiencies that can help their bottom line, especially in this economic environment,” FedEx Express President Kawal Preet said.

“As more customers, particularly online consumers, rank delivery speed as a secondary consideration when placing an order, businesses are looking for differentiated solutions. This is part of our ongoing efforts to provide greater value and an exceptional experience for our customers.”

From 2 May onwards, the subsidiary of FedEx Corporation and one of the world’s largest express transportation companies provide access to new international delivery capabilities.

The new FedEx International Economy (IE) services will connect Asia Pacific to 170 markets worldwide, with deliveries within the region typically taking two to five business days and to major markets in Europe and the United States taking four to five.

Customers who choose to ship less urgent products with day-definite delivery will have the same reliability as FedEx time-definite International Priority services, according to FedEx Express.

“Not everything needs to be delivered the next day. Day-defined delivery is what more of our customers are looking for and our IE service enables us to address customers’ changing needs and expectations to select the service that adds the most value to their business,” FedEx Express Senior Vice President of Marketing and Customer Experience Salil Chari said.

Simultaneously, FedEx intends to improve transit times for FedEx International Priority (IP) in specific trade lanes. FedEx says customers can utilize IP to ship critical and urgent shipments worldwide.
