Australian IoT firm M2M Connectivity has secured a distribution deal with ELA Innovation, one of Europe’s leading manufacturers of industrial wireless and Bluetooth sensors.

Under the partnership, M2M Connectivity will be the main distributor of ELA Innovation technologies in Australia and New Zealand.

M2M will supply advanced tracking sensors and beacons to industries, including transport and logistics, healthcare, and industry 4.0.

The focus will be on BLE, Wirepas and QUUPPA tags beacons and sensors for identifying, locating and measuring assets, people, and environmental conditions.

Daryl Chambers, Director at M2M Connectivity, commented on ELA Innovation’s exceptional reputation for its production of robust and reliable tracking tags, beacons and sensors.

“ELA’s technology presents us with a unique opportunity to work with local systems integrators and partners to not just supply the hardware, but to help create new tracking and monitoring networks which will bring greater safety and efficiency to a broad range of facilities and industries,” Chambers explained.

“Now a single gateway connected over ethernet, cellular or satellite can collect data from tens or hundreds of end point connected ELA products,” he said.

He continued that the partnership with ELA Innovation adds further value to M2M’s portfolio and aligns with their mission to make wireless work in any environment.

In 2021, France-based ELA Innovation experienced a 70 per cent growth in sales. Their industrial Bluetooth technology, used by companies such as Renault and France’s national railway company SNCF, offers significant advantages including low energy use, high autonomy, and long battery life.

ELA’s range of products also suits many use cases, including motion detection, passive infrared sensors (PIR), and temperature monitoring.

Willy Le Mercier, Sales Director of ELA Innovation, said that ELA Innovation has spent the past twenty years developing an increasingly wide range of sensors for industrial environments.

“This has enabled us to respond in a targeted and relevant manner to the very strong demand we have been experiencing in recent years in all IIOT markets,” Mercier explained.

“Despite the global situation of COVID-19 for almost two years, we have maintained and amplified this growth, particularly in the context of embedded telematics solutions and people/asset tracking solutions for indoor and outdoor environments,” he said.

He continued that the company wants to expand, particularly in Australia and New Zealand with the help of M2M.

“This new distribution partnership with M2M Connectivity seemed obvious to us, as we were convinced by the expertise and experience of their teams and the real complementarity of our products with the ranges they offer today,” he said.

“We are looking forward to working with M2M Connectivity and strengthening our international reputation in advanced Bluetooth sensing and tracking technology.”

M2M Connectivity’s partnership with ELA Innovation is its second distribution deal in the last 12 months. In March 2021, M2M Connectivity announced it will act as the master distributor of Peplink across Australia and New Zealand.
