Aussie technology business Sherpa is breaking records again, as it keeps up with the insatiable demand for its last mile Same Day Service across Floristry and Gifting this Valentine’s Day.

Australia’s #1 same day delivery company has seen unprecedented demand this year, as more enterprise floristry and gifting business rely on them to get their product to customers the same day they order.

A huge 185,000 flowers were delivered on the 14th alone, that means Sherpa’s 10,000 strong fleet across 21 cities were collectively delivering 128 flowers per minute to loved ones. This number is +35% on last year, and a huge +70% on the year prior.

But it’s not only Flowers, Sherpa also delivered 1,000s of cupcakes, hampers and alcohol. There was also a huge demand for balloons, champagne, doughnuts, edible flowers and lamingtons. Roses however remain the most popular present.

“This year was our biggest ever, but we are saying that a lot these days. We have had a number of very large retailers integrate with us recently, and they are all focused on 2 things, speed and efficiency,” Duncan Brett, CEO of Sherpa says.

“Our unique Technology allows Speed, Flexibility, and Scalability for Australia’s largest retailers. We solve a key problem that other carriers cannot, delivering Same Day across 21 cities, covering 76% of Australia’s population”

“The consumer demand continues to grow, and more and more retailers are reaching out to ask us to tell them how this works, and how they can get on board. There is a continually growing cohort of customers that have experienced the convenience and value of getting their goods same day, and they are clearly loving it.”

The Aussie start-up, founded in 2014, says Fortitude Valley in Brisbane is 2023’s most romantic city with 800 customers sending Valentine’s Day roses. Kellyville in NSW, Port Melbourne in Victoria, Brisbane City and Randwick in Sydney also recorded very high Valentine’s Day deliveries.

“Consumer demand for immediate receipt of goods has completely exploded, and that’s where Sherpa absolutely shines,” Duncan says.

“We deliver same day – and only same day – for the biggest retailers across groceries, alcohol, technology, flowers and medication. We also work with SMEs looking to get their cupcakes, clothing, hampers, homewares or anything else to customers on the same day of booking.”
