Significant construction of the Inland Rail’s Narrabri to North Star Phase 1 segment is on target for completion toward the end of October.

Inland Rail project Director Narrabri to North Star, Peter Borrelli, said the group was pleased to finish major construction on the Narrabri to North Star Stage 1 segment of Inland Rail.

The part among Camurra and North Star in NSW is because of the return to support toward the month’s end, permitting trains to support grain storehouses at Milguy, Croppa Creek, and North Star following more than two years.

“Together with our delivery partner Trans4m Rail, we have achieved a fantastic result which will bring benefits to local industry, rail operators and communities.

I’d like to thank our customers for their patience as we completed the Narrabri to North Star Phase 1 work throughout previous work stages and tight possession windows.

We are thrilled to be able to return the line to service on schedule, despite significant challenges faced during construction including flooding, mouse plagues, and the pandemic,” said Borrelli.

ARTC Inland Rail said the achievement flags the completion of major construction on the principal period of Narrabri to North Star, which incorporates moves up to 176 kilometres of track along the current hall between the two areas.

Five intersection loops, seven bridge upgrades, and further developed security at 57-level intersections have all been included in the plan to further develop well-being and service unwavering quality in the network.

The second phase is at present in approvals, with Inland Rail currently setting up a Preferred Infrastructure Report and a Response to Submissions to the NSW Department of Planning and Environment.

Narrabri to North Star would be the second part of Inland Rail to finish significant development, following the appointment of the Parkes to Narromine line in September 2020.
